    Ø Create albums, calendars, and other projects.

    Ø Save your projects.

    Ø Share your photo projects with others. This includes online albums, slideshows, photo emails, and more!

    It doesn't matter if you already use Elements or you're completely new to the software. All lessons are comprehensive and easy-to-understand. Using step-by-step directions, you'll master even the most complex tasks. By the end of this course, you'll know everything about Elements that you need to know to easily organize, edit, print, and share your photos and images

     
    Course Requirements
    This course will not require you to have previous experience in any particular area but you should have the following:

  • Learn the basics of art while you develop your own style. Master basic techniques and tricks-of-the-trade as you frame your subjects, build your sketches with basic art forms, and fill your works with color and texture. You will create artwork as you explore each topic assigned. At the end of the course I will suggest art venues in which you may be successful. REQUIREMENTS: All artwork will be done in your personal sketchbook (except for special projects). All work will be critiqued by instructor. At the end of the class you will complete an online portfolio for your final grade. MATERIALS you must have for class: -hard and soft graphite art pencils such as 2B, 4B, 2H, HB -a good quality artist's metal sharpener -a good quality, clean art eraser -an artist's sketchbook (suggested sheet size at least 8x10 inches) SUGGESTED MATERIALS: -an art box or bag to carry your materials -for special projects, you may use a point-and-shoot or digital camera with image editing programs such as Photoshop or L View Pro -- you can also use your choice of drawing/painting materials which may include markers, colored pencils, poster paints, pastels, art quills, watercolors, acrylics, oils, canvases, colored paper

  • In this course students explore science fiction and fantasy authors and writing styles and then create a 3D fantasy world of their own. After an introduction to the sub-genres of science fiction/fantasy, we will learn how to research our ideas to make our fictional world viable. Developing characters, plotting, constructing a scene and narrative voice are part of any good science fiction/fantasy novel or short story, and we will complete exercises to enhance our understanding of these essentials. In the last part of the course, we will concentrate on symbolism and how to develop it.

    This course focuses on two distinct literacy types of imaginative literature; science fiction, fantasy. The special characteristics of each group will be defined and applied to specific literary works.

    Books read will include:The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Science Fact and Fiction, The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, The Last Unicorn, The Hobbit, We Have Always Lived in the Castle.
