In this honors English class students study the universal nature of a characters' struggles and analyze some of the complex forces affecting their lives. Students examine the value of primary source material in presenting an authentic picture of an given period in history as well as undesirable outcomes of advances in science presented in Gulliver's Travels.

WiloStar3D English 9-Integrated Studies A is a course that is designed to maximize student learning of core literature concepts by directly correlating with the 3D Interactive Academy Ancient History course.
Using historical fiction and classical writings, students will explore how literature can help paint a picture of our world to reflect the cultural and historical values of specific time periods.
Students in this course will:
- recognize diverse forces that help shape and/or change cultural fabric,patterns, and tone.
- collect specific data on a range of ancient names, places, and concepts and examine how literature expresses these concepts.
- examine and demonstrate a grasp of a range of root sources in ancient culture develop a creative response that reflects understanding of ancient sources researched.
